'Alouette - Converted Barn

The
setting:
The countryside
is peppered with plum orchards which ripen for picking around
the middle of August. The bulk of these are taken to be dried
or half dried to make the prunes for which this area is famous
(try the chocolate covered ones!) They are used in many local
dishes along with hazelnuts, walnuts and chestnuts.
Accommodation
at L 'Alouette:
L'alouette
is a lovingly restored, solid stone walled barn.
It has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to10 people, comprising of
2 doubles & 1 twin downstairs,1 double sofa bed upstairs
and two single bed sofas in the lounge.
An ancient spiral staircase leads to the galleried room (Room
4) which has the double sofabed - and so can also be used
as a second lounge.
Three
of the bedrooms can be found downstairs. 2 doubles, each with
beautiful carved wooden Louis 15th style beds, one looks out
to the tennis court the other has outstanding views as far
as the eye can see!
The third bedroom has twin day beds and overlooks the pool
area.
Walk through
the magnificent 10’ double opening, glass, French doors
and find the huge, open plan living area. It has a luxury
kitchen which has an 8 hob range cooker, dishwasher, washing
machine, microwave and american fridge/freezer complete with
an integral ice maker.
The kitchen window looks out onto a stone walled courtyard
with olive and peach trees, flowers and shrubs.
There is also a dining area, which can easily sit 10.
The lounge
has 2 sofas which can turn into single beds if necessary and
a LCD TV ( with free channel English TV ) and DVD player discreetly
hidden in an ancient armoire.
There is an ancient “Godin “ woodburner in the
lounge.
The family
bathroom has a 6 jet, hydrotherapy, walk in shower and a gorgeous,
huge, freestanding, roll-top bath, WC and sink. There is a
second WC adjacent to the gallery, upstairs.
Outside
there is a private patio, with table chairs and BBQ with fabulous
views as far as the eye can see!
